What It’s All About

AHEAD Delaware State University Campus Takeover/Roadshow 2024

AHEAD Campus Roadshows showcase diverse career opportunities in hospitality beyond traditional roles like Room Operations and Food & Beverage. They highlight non-traditional fields such as engineering, accounting, chemistry, communications, public relations, business management, sales & marketing, IT, and data analytics. Partnering with colleges and universities, AHEAD raises awareness of the many career paths connected to hospitality.

    Industry Learning Sessions

    Hosted by professionals from our partner companies, including Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott, Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, Bloomin’ Brands, Bacardi, Dollar Tree and more. These sessions will provide hands-on experiences and insights into non-traditional hospitality careers.

    Interactive Games

    Fun and engaging games will be set up across the campus to create an enjoyable and interactive atmosphere for students. These games will not only entertain but also impart valuable lessons about teamwork and problem-solving.

    Food and Refreshments

    AHEAD will bring a delightful culinary experience to campus, showcasing the diverse and exciting aspects of the hospitality industry. This will include food tastings, cooking demonstrations, and opportunities for students to interact with professionals in the culinary field.

    Concurrent Workshops

    A series of concurrent workshops will be conducted to delve deeper into specific career paths and provide students with practical knowledge. Workshops will be facilitated by industry experts, offering valuable insights and networking opportunities.

    Graduate Engagement

    PWIs will be invited to market their graduate programs, NYU in particular, as a special scholarship for HBCU students only, and AHEAD will be encouraging other schools to offer similar opportunities.

    Senior Market Place

    PWIs and other non HBCUs will be invited to showcase their graduate programs, and to offer scholarship opportunities. NYU’s Tisch Center for Hospitality has a full-ride Scholarship dedicated for HBCU students.
